Did you know about National Dance Day! IF not, pay attention! For the remainder of the week Arthur Murray Palm Harbor will be offering FREE (that's right, free) group classes every night! The schedule is as follows:

Thursday: 6:15 -- Contemporary
7:00 -- NDD Choreography
8:30 -- Cha Cha

Friday: 6:15 Tango
7:00 - 8:30 -- So You Think You Can Dance Night
(Draw a dance style out of a hat and work with one of our choreographers!)

And be sure not to miss the culmination of this exciting week on National Dance Day, Saturday, July 27. We will be offering FREE (that's right, free) private lessons all day long to new students. We will also have an NDD choreography class at 7:00 for free to all followed by a large open party from 7:45 - 11:00 featuring flash mobs of the NDD choreography, live entertainment, professional performances, refreshments, and a dance competition with a $500 dance scholarship at stake! In honor of our So You Think You Can Dance debut, the staff and students of Arthur Murray held a viewing party at Tiffany's Family Restaurant to celebrate their National Dance Day landmark. In honor of National Dance Day, created by So You Think You Can Dance producer Nigel Lythgoe, Arthur Murray Palm Harbor partnered with Lighthouse for the Blind to spread the message that everybody truly can dance! When the executives of So You Think You Can Dance heard about our efforts to spread dancing throughout all of the community, we were asked to appear on So You Think You Can Dance to inspire other dancers across the country! Most So You Think You Can Dance fans are watching youtube to learn the NDD choreography, but our special students from Lighthouse for the Blind are not able to learn from a video, they need guidance and special instruction. Free Dance Lessons for National Dance Day - where to go to celebrate NDD in Florida


Mark your calendar—National Dance Day is back! The second annual National Dance Day will take place once again on the last Saturday of July (July 30, 2011). In the near future, three routines will be available right here on Fox.com/Dance so people of all levels can join in on the fun.

“It’s a wonderful way to stay healthy and have fun whilst doing it,” National Dance Day creator and SYTYCD Executive Producer/Judge Nigel Lythgoe said on Thursday’s Top 20 results show.

WHAT: NATIONAL DANCE DAY, a grassroots initiative that encourages the nation, young and old, to move! Individuals, families, organizations and communities from across the nation come together through their creative expression in dance. Any style of dance is welcome and imagination is recommended in order to get the most out of this celebratory day.

WHEN: Saturday, July 30

WHY: To continue to generate national awareness for dance, a medium of expression and storytelling which, through shows like So You Think You Can Dance, has proven its value in bringing individuals from all walks of life together through a positive platform that has no boundaries and cultivates imagination and passion. Most importantly, the day is intended to promote health and wellness nationwide.

HOW: Three videos will be released Wednesday, July 6 with different levels of choreography, making it possible for people of all ages and dance backgrounds to celebrate.

National Dance Day was recognized by Congress last year. Learn more about the movement brought to Washington, D.C. by Nigel Lythgoe and Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC). Share your D-Day ideas in the SYTYCD forums and stay tuned to this site for more information to come.

So You Think You Can Dance Viewing Party! AM Palm Harbor is famous!

Arthur Murray Palm Harbor was scheduled to be featured on this Thursday's episode of Fox's hit TV show So You Think You Can Dance (SYTYCD). To celebrate, the studio hosted a large dance and viewing party which was covered by Fox 13 news of Tampa Bay. The camera crew arrived and film both the dancing in the studio and our dinner and viewing party held at Tiffany's Family Restaurant in the Fountains Palza. Disappointingly, however, Palm Harbor was not featured in this week's episode. Stay tuned for further deatails on next week's episode and a big thank you to Fox 13 news, Tiffany's Family Restaurant, Lighthouse for the Blind, and all of our students who made this great achievement possible!
